Renewal purchases

Student pricing

You may renew your license to either a six-month license or an annual license, regardless of the license term you originally purchased. You may also choose the same edition of license (Stata/BE—formerly Stata/IC, Stata/SE, Stata/MP (2-core), Stata/MP (4-core)) or a different edition than you now have.

Students currently enrolled at degree-granting institutions may purchase Stata at the prices listed below. Proof of student status (i.e., copy of your university ID card) is required.

Speed comparisons

Stata is fast.

Stata/MP is the fastest edition of Stata and handles the largest datasets. All modern computers can take advantage of the advanced multiprocessing of Stata/MP. This means

  • Stata/MP2 runs almost two times faster than Stata/SE
  • Stata/MP4 runs almost four times faster than Stata/SE
  • Higher MP licenses run even faster
