What is a single-user license?
- A single-user license for Stata is an identified-user license. The
registered user is the only authorized user of that license.
- A single-user license allows Stata to be installed on multiple
computers as long as the authorized user is the only one with access
to the software.
- Single user licenses may be either annual or perpetual.
- Annual licenses
- An annual license entitles you to receive updates and new releases to Stata software throughout your license term, all at no additional cost.
- An annual license lets you enjoy uninterrupted access to technical support from a dedicated staff of expert Stata programmers and statisticians.
- An annual license is a one-year license. The term for an annual license begins the day we process your order. Prior to the one-year expiration date, you may renew your license to ensure continued access to Stata software.

What is a volume purchase of single-user licenses?
- A volume purchase of single-user licenses is a purchase of multiple
single-user licenses placed at the same
time in order to take advantage of falling per unit costs.
- Purchasing multiple copies of Stata under a volume discount does
not mean that the copies are connected. They are independent licenses.
- A volume purchase discount decreases the overall price paid for multiple
single-user licenses purchased together.

What is a network license?
- A network license allows a specific number of concurrent users.
- A network license allows Stata software to be installed on multiple
computers within a single geographic location or physical site.
- The minimum size network is a 2-user license. If the license is on
the current version of Stata, the size of the license may be increased
for a reduced per-user charge. For example, if you currently own a
5-user network license, the price of adding another user would be the
price of adding user number 6.
