The Chinese Stata Conference takes place on 16 July 2021 at Wuhan University. The conference will be broadcast live at the same time for those that cannot attend in person.

This conference will provide Stata users from across China the opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, and information on new applications of Stata. Representatives from StataCorp will attend the conference virtually, so you can share your questions and feedback directly with Stata developers. Anyone interested in using Stata is welcome.

With this package, users can call Stata from various Python environments, including Jupyter Notebook, Jupyter Lab, Spyder IDE, PyCharm IDE, and system command-line environments that can access Python (Windows Command Prompt, macOS terminal, Unix terminal). In this talk, I will introduce two ways to run Stata from Python: the IPython magic commands and a suite of API functions. I will then demonstrate how to use them to seamlessly pass data and results between Stata and Python.

latitude and longitude; cnaddress, which converts latitude and longitude into Chinese landmark geographic locations; cntraveltime, which calculates the traffic distance between two geographic locations (you can choose different traffic modes); and cnmapsearch, which searches for various geographic keywords such as subway stations, hospitals, cafes, barbecue stalls, etc., within a few kilometers of a given location. These commands provide a great convenience for empirical research on geographic and transportation issues and have broad application prospects in finance, economics, and sociology.
