This FAQ is for users of Stata 10.

Why do I receive the error "Unable to Locate DLL" upon launching Stata 10 on Windows 2000?

Title   gdiplus.dll not found on Windows 2000
Author Alan Riley, StataCorp
Date June 2007

Some users may encounter the pop-up below when launching Stata 10 on Windows 2000.

Stata 10 requires the file gdiplus.dll to run. This file is not found on some Windows 2000 systems, and the Stata Installer may have failed to install it in the Stata installation directory.

To solve the problem, you should download the file gdiplus.dll and save it in your Stata installation directory (by default, C:\Program Files\Stata10).
