Why can’t I click in Stata’s Command Window in Windows 2000/XP?

Title   Stata command window in Windows 2000/XP
Author Alan Riley, StataCorp
Date December 2001

Stata for Windows users with executables older than 7 December 2001 may not be able to click to select text in Stata’s Command window in Windows 2000 and XP. Executables dated 7 December 2001 and later use a different type of edit field in the Command window and do not experience this problem.

If you experience this problem, update your Stata executable to the latest available. Simply type update query in Stata, and Stata will tell you what to do next to complete the update process.
