-gllamm- can estimate random effects with multinomial logistic regression.  See section 9.3 of the GLLAMM manual.

In my analysis, I am using multinomial logistic regression to estimate the odds of subjects selecting of different supplements. The outcome measure is supplement selection (of which there are five options). Subjects were asked about their supplement selection multiple times throughout the study, so they have contributed multiple outcomes. Since there are repeated observations for each subject, within-subject correlation must be considered.

At this time, I plan to use the mlogit function with the vce(cluster ) option to account for the non-independent nature of the data. However, is there a way to do multinomial logistic regression more formally using GEE or random intercepts?
