Ok, that takes less than a second to read on my Stata 10.
My version of Stata is:
. update

Stata executable
    folder: C:\Program Files\Stata10\
    name of file: wsestata.exe
    currently installed: 25 Feb 2008

Ado-file updates
    folder: C:\Program Files\Stata10\ado\updates\
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: 29 Feb 2008

Utilities updates
    folder: C:\Program Files\Stata10\utilities
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: (none)

So there seems to be something wrong with your instalation. I would try
three things. First, type -update all- in Stata, to make sure you have
the most recent update. Second, if that does not help reinstall Stata.
Third, if that does not help, contact Stata tech support
( http://www.stata.com/support/tech-support/ ) , they are much better
at solving these things than we are.
