The technical term for what you want to do is control the "aspect ratio". -help region_options- has a section on that, you can also look at -help aspect_option-.

i have done a graphs of twoway scatter type. y-axis and x-axis are of two
differering scales. what i want to do is to make the plot square'ish i.e.
