Hi Laura,
As far as i know, one of the advantages/disadvantages of "locals" is
that they only remain in memory while the program is running (Im
assuming you run the loop from a do file.
my suggestion is to store your results on a matrix:
reg y star0 star1 star2 star3 star4 star5 star6 star7 x1 x2 x3


forval i = 0/6 {
local j = `i'+1
lincom star`j' - star`i'
matrix  b=nullmat(b),[r(estimate),r(se)]
}
matrix list b
