Thanks, Maarten. I think StataCorp has been proudly promoting Mata as a real programming language for the last 8 years, so all of us who ever touched it are "programmers". Seriously, I am not sure why my expectation that fellow users who coded up estimators before might know a thing or to about st_views would be off. In any case, all of us had better things to do — and I did contact tech support with some of my questions, yes.
