For what it's worth, I'm also unsuccessful at the update, but it does not appear to be due to delays or network traffic, but rather the same problem that Al reported yesterday. Stata is telling me that my files are up to date, yet I know them not to be. -----Original Message----- From: owner-statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu [mailto:owner-statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu] On Behalf Of Martin Weiss Sent: Friday, June 04, 2010 11:03 AM To: statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu Subject: AW: st: RE: RE: RE: Stata updated to 11.1 <> " but took far longer than my past experiences." I would say that we need to be fair here, and acknowledge that there used to be no such thing as a "utility update" in the past. The two manuals that had to be transferred to (probably) thousands of Stata 11 users last night, [D] and [R], "weigh" a cool 23 MB combined. With many simultaneous requests, I can understand that network infrastructure would be struggling to deliver this volume of data fast. Comparisons with updates for -version- 10 and prior are hence terribly skewed in favor of the past... I did and it succeeded eventually, but took far longer than my past experiences. Good to know I wasn't the only one though.
