I find a dramatic advantage for -count- on my 4-core 64-bit MacPro, running Stata 11/MP4:

13.53; 60.70; 72.25

The activity monitor showed all four cores maxed out during -summarize-, so whether it is affected as much by paralleiization, it seems to be able to utilize everything the machine has to offer.

Unlike Robert, I find that reducing memory allocation from 500m to 100m slows it down!
