Apart from that, Sergiy has talked about the registry settings affecting
Stata default behavior a couple of times, such as in
http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2008-06/msg00408.html Editing the
registry is not for the fainthearted, of course...

Hi Statalisters,

Is it possible to set preferences or adjust profile.do so that
do-files open in the editor by default, rather than being run in
Stata?

My apologies if this is obvious or has been discussed on the list - I
did a bit of searching but did not find anything.

In case it's relevant, I use Stata 11 SE on Windows 7 Enterprise.
