I wasn't there at the West Coast meeting, meaning Los Angeles, but a guess is that the same applies.
I was at the West Coast Meetings, and I agree, it helps to be there. Those interested in visual graphics probably want to be first in line to order the forthcoming 2nd edition of Michael Mitchell's book:
