Check out Nick Cox's -swor- command. Rather than discarding cases, it can optionally generate a variable coded 1 if in sample, 0 otherwise. You could then either use -if- statements to select only the sampled cases, or save different files, one for the sampled cases and another for the non-sampled cases.
