st: graph export vs save graph as

I use Stata9 on Mac, and I have a problem with the following situation :

"graph export mygraph.pct" in a do-file is not the same as "save  
graph as pict", although my manual tells me so. The "exported" pict  
file is un-degroupable in drawing applications. Is there something I  
did not get ?!
