stata users:
a new version of the stata command -seg- is now available. it can be
downloaded using the ssc command (Stata 7) or the archutil commands
(Stata 6). -seg- computes a variety of segregation and diversity indices
for multiple group populations. the previous version of -seg- computed 4
segregation indices; this version computes 9 indices. the indices are
described and evaluated in the following recent article:

Reardon, Sean F., and Glenn Firebaugh. 2002. "Measures of multigroup segregation." Sociological Methodology 32: 33-67.

i do not subscribe to statalist, so if you have any questions about
-seg-, please contact me at [email protected].

thanks,

sean.
