st: Problems using dta files

Dear Statalisters,

I am having problems using some dta files in Stata 10.1. I am trying to
use the dta files that contain the datasets of Hamilton's book "Statistics
with STATA. Version 12" However, Stata 10 does not allow me to use them
and the following message appears on the screen invariably:

"file XXXXX.dta from more recent version of Stata; type update query to
see if an update to Stata is available and look at http://www.stata.com/
to see if a new version of Stata is available.
r(610);" I have already checked for a solution but without success.

Currently, I do not have Stata 12 but would like to use Hamilton's
datasets to replicate some of the examples contained in his most recent
book, by using Stata 10. Does anybody know how I can use the dta files in
the older version of Stata?
