I used to get repeated messages from one person of this kind. The request (instruction?) was in effect to send every posting I sent to Statalist twice, once sending the original to everybody and once individually to confirm to this person that I was not a spammer. As I recollect, I wrote directly to that person explaining why I would not do that, and _that_ mail was bounced back with the same request. The upside is that these events, so far, appear unusual.
