Hi, I think the original poster wanted to know about the platform differences between Windows and Mac versions of Stata. Stata internally uses Scintilla/SciTe editor component, which does support code folding in MacOSx, http://wb.fabforce.eu/wp-content//uploads/scintillaosxcocoa.png Code folding for Mac has just been announced in Stata 13 (see #70): http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?whatsnew12to13 I don't know what prevented including it in an earlier version of Stata, at the same generation as in Windows version. In Stata 12 Windows version, in my do file, I used to divide the code into sections and fold each section between two curly brackets so that the folded part of the code is hidden in the do file which tidies up the code. But I recently moved to Mac and now using Mac Stata 12 version. The do file editor now does not facilitate the use of curly brackets to fold lines of code. I wonder why and if there is a way I can achieve this. > > > Many text editors support code folding. For example, TextMate does (http://macromates.com), and lets you execute entire do-files or selections/lines in Stata, just like Stata's built-in do-file editor. > > > -- Phil > > > * > * For searches and help try: > * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search > * http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/resources/statalist-faq/ > * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/ * * For searches and help try: * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search * http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/resources/statalist-faq/ * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/
