It sounds like the ccmatch.ado file might have become corrupted, and has a "<" at the start of the file (leading to the error message). You could try running -viewsource ccmatch.ado- to see what's actually in the file. In any case I would try removing -ccmatch- and reinstalling it: ado uninstall ccmatch ssc install ccmatch Phil On 22/02/2012, at 11:02 PM, Benjamin Niug wrote: > It does not help (but thx). > > Doing that, I get the following reply: > > ---- > package name: ccmatch.pkg > from: http://fmwww.bc.edu/RePEc/bocode/c/ > > checking ccmatch consistency and verifying not already installed... > all files already exist and are up to date. > ----- > > But the error message mentioned before continues to appear when > executing -ccmatch- > > Any further suggestions? > > > 2012/2/22 Muhammad Anees <anees@aneconomist.com>: >> This problem can arise because the command is not installed, So check >> from command line what -findit ccmatch- results. >> >> You will get >> >> ccmatch from http://www.elwoodcook.com/stata >> ccmatch can be used to generate case-control matches in your data based on >> criteria specified in other variables. / by Daniel Elwood Cook >> >> ccmatch from http://fmwww.bc.edu/RePEc/bocode/c >> 'CCMATCH': module to match observations on specified criteria / ccmatch >> allows you to match observations (individuals) on the / basis of any >> specified variables. / KW: data management / KW: matching / Requires: >> Stata version 11 / Distribution-Date: 20111213 / Author: Daniel E.
