Hi,
I use stata in Mac and Windows environment and when files are created
in windows the extended characters do not show correctly on the Mac.
For example, Ó becomes " and ó becomes Û
This is because the encoding is set to Mac OS Roman whereas the file
was created with Western (Windows Latin 1)
Is there a way to change the encoding in stata, so that variable
labels and do-files are displayed correctly?

Thanks for any help!

Miguel
