Subject | st: New package -renfiles- available on SSC |
Date | Mon, 1 Aug 2011 21:51:42 +0200 |
Dear Statalist. Many thanks to of Kit Baum who recently (2011-07-28) made the -renfiles- package available for download from SSC. In Stata, use the -ssc- command to do this directly, or go somewhat more indirectly through usage of the -findit- command.
--- --- --- Brief abstract:The -renfiles- package allows for a convenient way to change filenames for (a matched subset of) files in a directory of choice. The achieved generality is governed by the options that implements e.g. the choice of a folder to look in, a filename matching criterion to apply within this folder, the sign/substring to replace and the corresponding sign/substring to replace occurrences within matched filenames with. Typical use could e.g. be to put several files into a specific form, to remove certain (special or simply unwanted) characters from filenames, remove empty spaces from filenames, etc. Both in/out forms are case-sensitive. An additional option allows for choosing whether or not the files corresponding to the old versions of the matched filenames should be kept or erased. All options are optional and corresponding defaults exists.
