Hi,

Anyone knows how to use feed the estimate of the variance into glm using the local or scalar commands?

I am trying to do this:
local a= e(alpha)
glm m x1 x2 x3, family(nb `a’)

but does not work.

I am using stata 10. I do not know if this has something to do with the quotes. Suggestions are welcome.

Regards,

Francisco.
