Maarten, Daniel, and Roger, thanks to each of you for your helpful replies.
The example code provided by Maarten does precisely what I’ve been trying
for. After studying it a bit, I’ve made sense of it in my own mind too.
The -genicv- module looks very handy too since it is very simple to use and
does nearly the same thing (except for customising the length of the
variable names).
