Subject | st: Troubles with shp2dta |

Hello, all. I frequently use shp2dta with success. Today, however, I tried it with a new shapefile and got the error message, "ProyectoSIG/Zonas.shp: 1point, polyine, or polygon shapefile required." I'm not sure why I'm getting this message, since my file is indeed a shapefile and opens fine in, say, ArcGIS. (Of course, the .shx and .dbf files are also there). Statalist archives suggest a work-around with shp2mif, but I can't findit (I'm using Stata 10 for Mac). Would very sincerely appreciate your input.
