You can actually save you preferences. See "Managing your preferences"
section of the "Setting font and window preferences" helpfile. You can
access this helpfile by typing one of the commands in between the
hyphens below:

-help winfonts- if you're a Windows person
-h macfonts- for Mac
-h unixfonts- for Unix/Linux.
