Martin may well be right, but either way Sinan could make questions clearer by showing _exactly what the typed syntax was_. It is difficult enough commenting on a program that is not publicly accessible. Nick n.j.cox@durham.ac.uk Martin Weiss Maybe you are using the "/*" and "*/" delimiters in an interactive session and not from the do-file editor. This is what happened in this thread: http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2009-09/msg00641.html Sinan Hastorun I realize that not everyone uses the pvar program of Dr. Inessa Love, but any suggestions regarding this error would be greatly appreciated. I time-demean the variables, then run the helm command to remove the fixed effects, and finally, try to run PVAR on the transformed variables. However, I keep getting the following error message: option / not allowed r(198); What exactly does this mean? Any thoughts on what the problem might be or what I may be doing wrong? How do I resolve this kind of error? * * For searches and help try: * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search * http://www.stata.com/support/statalist/faq * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/
