You are therefore faced with needing a multi-machine solution rather
than a multi-processor one.  You should be able to split the
bootstrapping across multiple machines (each one doing reps(1000/x)
where x=# machines), achieving a reduction in your run times as a
factor of the number of machines you can commandeer.  (hopefully you
are in an environment where there are other Stata users who may be
willing to let their machines run overnight).  Appending the resultant
postfiles would give you your simulation dataset.
