" My opening screen says "Stata 11.0", yet the update query says I have the
executable from 20 Apr 2010."

There is no contradiction, as this was the last exe -update- under 11.0, I
guess. When you are done with 11.1, your -update query- should report this:

. update query
(contacting http://www.stata.com)

Stata executable
    folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata11\
    name of file: StataMP-64.exe
    currently installed: 03 Jun 2010
    latest available: 03 Jun 2010

Ado-file updates
    folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata11\ado\updates\
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: 03 Jun 2010
    latest available: 03 Jun 2010

Utilities updates
    folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata11\utilities
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: 03 Jun 2010
    latest available: 03 Jun 2010

Recommendation
Do nothing; all files up to date.

Yeah - My opening screen says "Stata 11.0", yet the update query says I have
the executable from 20 Apr 2010.

I don't get it.

Strangely Al`s -update query- call recommended to " Do nothing;" which is a
little weird...

-h tpoisson- and -help tnbreg- are there on my Windows 7 machine, so Al`s
exe and ados somehow managed not to get -update-d...

Nick - This doesn't appear to be the case:

. update query
(contacting http://www.stata.com)

Stata executable
    folder: D:\stata11\
    name of file: Stata.exe
    currently installed: 20 Apr 2010
    latest available: 20 Apr 2010

Ado-file updates
    folder: D:\stata11\ado\updates\
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: 20 Apr 2010
    latest available: 20 Apr 2010

Utilities updates
    folder: D:\stata11\utilities
    names of files: (various)
    currently installed: 03 Jun 2010
    latest available: 03 Jun 2010

Recommendation
Do nothing; all files up to date.

---------------------------------------------
>>>From Bill Gould:

o Truncated count-data models. New commands -tpoisson- and -tnbreg-
fit fit models of count-data outcomes with any form of left
truncation, including truncation that varies observation by
      observation.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Typing "help tpoisson" or "help tnbreg" returns

"a help file ... was not found."

Windows already has it, as of 11.0. See -help whatsnew10to11-.

Dave - Is this only for the Mac? - I don't see any mention of it on
Windows.

Airey, David C

Lots of nice additions. New covariance structures in xtmixed. Syntax
coloring in the Mac Do editor.
