Since I started Win 7, I found this tool to be very
useful:

 http://defaultprogramseditor.com/

It is free and does what Win 7 does not - allows you to
add, remove, and edit the file associations for every
extension.

Hi Statalisters,

Is it possible to set preferences or adjust profile.do so that
do-files open in the editor by default, rather than being run in
Stata?

My apologies if this is obvious or has been discussed on the list - I
did a bit of searching but did not find anything.

In case it's relevant, I use Stata 11 SE on Windows 7 Enterprise.
