Why do you need -tempname-s here, anyway? See the example where I can
reassign the minimum and maximum repeatedly w/o -tempname-s:


That is the whole point isn't it?

I do not really need -tempname- and I know that I can do it as you propose. I have merely been using -tempname- in order to learn how it works. . . Not strictly necessary to me. I guess my interest to learn gets in the way for efficient coding practice. :)
