Sergiy, I tried that and I think that the hitch might be because there are two
variables in the auto.dta data set that begin with *t*.  Filter-by-expression
with tr < 20 works fine.  As does tr < 20 & tu > 35.  I avoid using variable
abbreviations for reasons like this--I've been stung too many times.
