If you're working in OS X, it's best just to standardize on Unix EOLs
for all text files.

As a postscript, note that in the Mac OS X version of Stata one can set the end-of-line delimiter for Stata files to be either "Macintosh" or "Unix": look under General Preferences for that option choice.
