As the maintainer of the SSC archive, I do not view the publishing of these rankings as some sort of competition. The purpose of these rankings is to provide positive feedback to those who have taken the time to develop useful add-ons to Stata, and, very importantly, feedback to StataCorp's developers on the capabilities that users seem to want as part of official Stata. Over the years, StataCorp has been quite responsive in its development to users' concerns, expressed here and at SUG Meetings' Wishes and Grumbles sessions.

I hope to see you in the city by the bay.
