When I use xtreg and fixed effects, the # observations used in the model that the output reports includes observations that would drop out because there is only 1 observation for that group. For example, a model I have has 3000 observations and 1800 groups. So, a good number of observations are not used in the calculations of the model. Is there any way to determine the # observations used in the calculations.

Thanks,

Jeremy
