st: loop for creating my village dummies

Hello,

In order to do village fixed effect, I would like to create dummy
variables for each name of villages, I have 124 villages in string
format:
My total number of observations is: 3200

type:  string (str4)
unique values:  124

list vid in 1/5

    +---------+
    |    vid  |
    |---------|
 1. | V001 |
 2. | V001 |
 3. | V001 |
 4. | V001 |
 5. | V001 |
    +---------+

I am not sure how to do it.
