st: NASUG2007 Boston

I am sorry to report that a participant at NASUG2007, Bruce P.  
Kennedy from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, died  
on Jan. 3 at the age of 48. Bruce had recently joined BC, moving from  
the Harvard School of Public Health, where he was an associate  
professor and an 'internationally recognized health researcher' (BC  
Chronicle, 17 Jan.). At BC, he was a consultant and research  
statistician at CSOM while serving as the managing partner of  
Cambridge Analytics, a research consulting group.

While I only had one or two opportunities to speak with Bruce at  
length, I found him to be intensely interested in promoting the  
appropriate use of statistical technique and the development of  
statistical tools. He will be sorely missed.
