hi markus,

because your dependent variable seems to be postitive and discrete, you might want to consider a count data model.

see "http://www.ats.ucla.edu/STAT/stata/library/count.htm"; for a short and long (http://www.stata.com/bookstore/regmod.html) for a throughout introduction.

regards,

sebastian

Hello everyone,

I am still a beginner with stata, so please dont be surprised about my
questions... :)
I am trying to make a simple regression with stata of the folowing form:
reg NumberOfGrandParents YearOfBirth
predict NumberOfGrandParents_p

My problem now is, that NumberOfGrandParents can only take "full" numbers
and of course cant exceed "4" or cant be smaller than 0. Is there any way to
implement that?

Thank you,
Markus.
