Question was: "Does anyone wrote once [or begun to write] an input program (do/ado file) to import Epidata-Entry *.rec files. " Why ? The Epidata-Entry program does not offer the possibility to make automatic export tasks.

You can convert EpiData files to Stata in several ways:

1. Use the export menu from EpiData Entry:
can export to Stata 5, Stata 6, Stata 7 and Stata version 8

including specification of labels and from V8 Missing values.

2. Use the EpiC batch conversion programme.
create a batch file with content:
epic import or epic export Find options in the documentation for EpiC or issue : Epic ?

3. You can use Stattransfer (if you are not using encrypted fields in EpiData)

Option 1 and 2 works on Windows computers. EpiC and EpiData software is available for free from www.epidata.dk
