As far as the overidentification test is concerned, i installed first
xtoverid, then xtivreg2. When i try to run the test xtoverid after an
Hausman-Taylor estimation, an error message appears"Error-must have ivreg2
version 2.1.15 or greater installed" r(601)

That to me is a quite clear message. -xtivreg2- is a 'wrapper' for - ivreg2-, so to use it, you must have -ivreg2- installed.

ssc describe ivreg2

and install, and -xtivreg2- should work fine.
