st: nesting functions in R (correction)

Excuse me - Some of my last posting didn't appear - here it is again.

There was a thread (about a year ago?) on the issue of how R permits
nesting of functions and Stata does not. So the question was whether
Stata should allow syntax such as

 reg y log(x1) x2/x3
