I think that this problem could be solved in current Stata if someone with a
font editor would just take a font or two (Times and Helvetica?) and
exchange some of the less popular upper ASCII characters with some of the
more commonly used greek/math/stats symbols. Then it would be easy enough
to use the char() function to insert upper ascii characters into any text or
title, giving access to the desired symbols. Maybe Stata could produce such
a font?
