That would be the -beep- command (no joke). -beep- has been around
since the very early days of Stata, and although I haven't seen it
used in a long time, I just tried it on my machine and it still works
(Stata 9.1, OS X 10.4.3). In my case it plays whatever the system
alert sound is set to.
