Glenn Hoetker <[email protected]> asked about graphics for 3 dimensional
surfaces.

Contour plots are on our development list, but we don't have a schedule.
Surface plots are also on the list, but due to the variety of choices for
implementation, they have a lower priority.  Higher than both of these on the
development list is a middle-level graphics language to make it easier for
graphics programmers to add new graph commands.

Glen went on to ask, 

> Is this something that the new graphics capabilities would make easy
> to develop (either by Stata or a user)?

The new graphics are sufficiently programmable for a user to add some 3D
graphics, but it would be a considerable undertaking.
