Dear Lisa, drop the obs with the missing values is, in general, a bad idea. After a little tour on Stata archives, I would point you to the following thread: http://www.stata.com/statalist/archive/2012-07/msg00198.htm and to the link it mentions: http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/statistics/clustering-and-mi-impute/. I do hope this little advice can help you out. Best regards, Carlo -----Messaggio originale----- Da: owner-statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu [mailto:owner-statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu] Per conto di lisa wallner Inviato: lunedì 28 ottobre 2013 21:43 A: statalist@hsphsun2.harvard.edu Oggetto: st: Missing values - panel data Dear all, I have a question concerning missing values. I have a panel data set for 6 years, in total 7 mio obs, but the panel is unbalanced. So, should I drop the obs with the missing values, or what's best? This would shrink the sample to 80% of its original size. Thx in advance!
