Thanks to Sergiy for identifying this issue, related to the use of tempname rather than tempfile. It does not cause a similar problem
on *nix systems as it does in his Windows environment, so it has gone undetected until now. A revised version containing his suggested fix (for which thanks) is now available from SSC, or via adoupdate staticfc, update
