The Statalist FAQ has recently been revised. One of several points on
which many questions have been vague or uninformative is _where_
people downloaded user-written programs from, despite a long-standing
request to make this explcit.

http://www.stata.com/support/faqs/resources/statalist-faq/#stata

now gives examples of good practice on this point.

For a recent summary of advice, see

Best of all, do study the FAQ before you post. It is intended to save
everyone embarrassment and frustration. No one is helped by questions
that can't be answered well.
