Subject | st: drawing two stage random samples |

Hi listers, I am looking to draw a random sample from my dataset that has nested levels, i.e. patients (pt_id) nested within physicians (doc-id). I would like to randomly sample physicians (say 20%) and then randomly sample patients (say 20%) from the randomly selected physicians. The data is in long form with unique pt_id that are nested within doc_id. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks Shehzad * * For searches and help try: * http://www.stata.com/help.cgi?search * http://www.stata.com/support/statalist/faq * http://www.ats.ucla.edu/stat/stata/
