I work for a company that provides assessment data to potential
employers for applicants. We often  produce survival curves for how
long employees remain on the job once employed. The problem is that we
believe these survival curves might not adequately represent the
strength our assessment system, because besides being selected based
on our assessment system, there are unknown factors which cause a job
applicant to be selected or not selected for a job.  We wanted to
apply Heckman’s model to take into account these selection effects,
but within the context of a survival analysis.
